Kumamoto at times has a lot of pollution, dust and volcanic ash floating around. I've done my best to keep the Rocket clean and shiny. After some time, I was seeing spots on the surface of the coating, no matter how well I washed the car or how fast I dried it.
I first took the car to Hutech in the city of Oita; they've done a great job of keeping my car shiny. They originally put on ten coats and have buffed it down four times since. They also recommended a local shop to me where I could save some traveling time and money. Using a local shop will also allow me to get a detailed car wash from time to time.
I've had the P85+ for 2 ½ years now, and it was due for its fifth maintenance. I decided to drive it over to Best Fit (also known as Washman) to see what they could do about the spots. After some consultation, we decided to have it coated with 3 new layers of Ceramic Pro 9H. I ended up leaving the car for a week while they worked on re-coating it. They did a great job, and now I can easily go back to them for a detailing (¥4,000) and whatever maintenance is needed. They also did the wheels and windows for me. I haven't driven the car much since I got it back last week. We're in the middle of the rainy season at the moment, and we just had a typhoon go over us (five hours ago). I was told to not use any soap or shampoo on it for ten days, which pretty much means I cannot wash it. I have a couple more days before I can relax I guess. In the meantime, I'll just enjoy looking at it.
