Yesterday Tesla Motors announced the site for its new battery factor. After a five-state battle over the site for production, the factory will be built in the state of Nevada. It will bring around 6,500 new jobs, and, at peak production, will produce 50 GWh of battery storage.
The plan is to not only produce way more batteries, but also bring down the cost of battery production, and therefore the cost of producing electric cars. I understand the Model 3 will come out sometime around 2017. Those of us who are buying Teslas now are helping progress development of the newer models. You're welcome.
